My Bio
Hey, I'm oxfords-n-spectacles, and welcome to my profile page!!

I'm typically a traditionalistic artist, using mostly water colors, graphite, and ink. I perfer a cartoon-style over a realistic one, and I think my style is gradually becoming more individualistic, but I have a lot to learn so most likely I will change drastically. I had a very light education in realism as a child, and in middle school I was introduced to manga. I relied heavily on that for a long time, and my drawings definately show my history there, but I feel like I'm branching away from the normality. I began graphic art in High school and got my first tablet sophmore year. I probably would be more advanced in my gaphic art if it wasn't for the fact photoshop failed and died on me and I had to relearn a whole different program (Corel).

Anyways, more about me, I have a cat named Angel, who has a very contradicting personality, and she will probably show up alot in my drawings. I love sweet tea, or tea in general, and I love food. ALL FOOD. well... almost all. I'm messy, lazy, I cannot spell worth a flip, but I'm also creative, sarcastic, and blunt, I get things done quickly when I concentrate. I'm a cross country runner and a violinist. And a supreme Latin nerd. I also enjoy collecting lego figures.

That's about it, thanks for looking and feel free to comment and please critque my pictures, that would help me alot!

Okay, I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I have some fantastic friends who gave me a  TON of candy today, which resulted in two things; me being upset for being a horrible friend and not giving anyone anything (I was going to give one of my friends something, then she gave me a freaking bouquet of dark chocolate in a glass vase) and a stomach ache. I know this is rather rude, but does anyone want to share? I will NEVER eat all of this... (my goodness it's like a freaking mountain...)

So. This is cool. Anyways, I've been in a low with art lately. Feeling more like a writer as of now. But now that applications are over, things might change, and I might post something worth your time. I have a lot of WIPs, but like I said, I haven't done anything lately. But, I'll be entering some art competitions soon, so I have to do  SOMETHING. Also, having a job, super fantastic. I can buy all sorts of useless things (such as prints) now. But I wan t to go to Italy. And pay for college. And gas. So, that being the case, I think I might open up for commissions. It will be all traditional of course (I"m better at it) but I have to work ou

Yep. Taking time to do whatever and my art hw. I got back from our overnight race yesterday, so totally wiped out today. And guess what!? I won tickets to see Wicked :D SOO EXCITED MAN. Anyways, pause and reflect, it's the 10th anniverary of 9/11. I was too young to understand at the time, but when my Gov teacher showed us videos in class Friday, I still felt it. What really got me was when people started screaming and crying as the towers fell, it was horrifyng. I have also been to "ground zero" before, also way back, and the wreckage (it still hadn't all been cleared) scared me. I cried then too. I think my favorite story about it, (even t

Thanks a bunch for the watch!
Nice gallery random deviant! : )
What kind of watercolor do you use?
Thank you!:happybounce: I use some cheap water colors from Micheals, the brand is Artist Loft I think. They're pretty good, and I like the colors. I also have liquid watercolors, which are okay, I don't know what the brand is though, but you should definitely look into liquid watercolors
Thank you very much! I will definetly look into that now
